How do you know if you are experiencing teacher burnout and when it is time for a change in your career?

Be Honest With Yourself

It’s okay to come to terms with your current role and its incompatibility with your goals and dreams.  You have to be honest with yourself and intune with your feelings.  If you have tried everything that you can, and are still not achieving better outcomes in your job satisfaction and mental health, make a plan to completely change your career goals.  If you are feeling depressed and unmotivated, you will be no good to your students.

Suggestions: Make a choice to be happy and healthy, and choose a new path. If teaching is your passion, figure out how you can still teach others, but on terms that bring you satisfaction. You are a teacher. You are smart, creative, and progressive. Tap into your resources and your innate gifts to overcome burnout and thrive in your career, whatever and wherever your ideas take you. Once a teacher, always a teacher. It’s in you to reach others and help them achieve their goals. Apply this same passion and energy into helping yourself attain your personal goals.
