How do you know if you are experiencing teacher burnout as a result of dissatisfaction with your job?  Ask yourself the following questions:

Assess Your Level Of Satisfaction In Your Current Role

Are you happy with the work you are doing?  Have you been teaching the same grade level or subjects for a while, and are you feeling bored?  Do you need a professional challenge to motivate you?

Suggestions: If you have decided that you are not feeling motivated in your work due to boredom or a desire for change, make your concerns and wishes known to your administration so that plans can be put in place for next school year. If you have assessed that you like where you are, but are feeling uninspired, it may be an opportune time to implement change in your teaching practices. Continue to educate yourself about what is new in your grade / subject matter and apply what you learn in your classroom. Keep growing and stay current. Draw inspiration from other teachers by joining a community where teachers are sharing their successes. You may choose to share your ideas in this community, too. You may be helping a fellow teacher who can draw inspiration from you. It is so encouraging being in the company of like-minded educators. Create your own personal professional network to keep yourself inspired.
